Hibiscus tea comes from a tropical flower, rather than the actual tea leaf, camellia sinensis. The hibiscus tea flower originated from Africa and is packed with a tart but lightly sweet fruity flavor. These flowers may also be found in Mexico, South and Central America as well as Hawaii. They look very similar to the Hawaiian state flower but are of a more flavorful variety.
